2008 Festival of Sail

Red white and blue bar

During the week of August 18 - 24, Flotilla 16-05 members volunteered many hours onboard the USCGC barque Eagle. Our members, along with members from other flotillas, met and talked with many thousands of visitors who came to see the "tall ships". The Eagle, built in 1936 as a training vessel, sailed through the Panama Canal from its homeport of New London, Connecticut to visit San Diego, San Pedro and San Fransisco. She continues to train USCG and OCS cadets. Flotilla 16-05 extends a huge "Thank You" to Captain Joseph Sinnett and his crew for welcoming our volunteers onto their beautiful ship!
